Not sure why anybody would be surprised. The Oil have sucked for the majority of the year. They've had the odd game where they've dominated but mostly have just gotten by on McDavid and Talbot.
It's been funny to read the bi-polar nature of these fans...

The team isn't good at all. They only won the last few in Cali because those teams already were planning their break.

This is one of those years just like the Aves, Flames, etc., had.

Lots of changes are needed to make this a legitimate team.

Thanks Drews. Didn't realize you were on here.

None of this is true.

The team has been legitimately good up to this point and all stats and fancy stats point towards that.

These last 3 have been atrocious though.

Get off the ledge. The team hit 3 posts tonight and missed an empty net wraparound. Aren't getting the bounces. They will rebound and be fine.

Yah you're right they both decided to lay down for important divisional games. This post is nonsense. Posters like you who wait until things go bad to pipe up are my least favourite part of HF Oil

puttin lucic on that line has done nothing keep pounding pavement

That's what I don't get. The middle six was doing well with

Pouliot-RNH-Eberle
Lucic-Caggiula-Slepyshev

Lucic was able to be physical on a line that didn't value puck possion above all else.

Pouliot added a speed elements to RNH and Eberle, both of whom have lost the speed to beat defencemen.

All we need is a coach who can adapt when his players aren't executing and plan for different opponents forecheck and neutral zone systems.

We play the same way against everyone, home and road.

Actually what we need is our longest serving highest paid players to score regularly.

Eberle just needs to be shipped out for anything at this point. It is really quite amazing we are where we are right now with the way our 2nd line has played all year.
