Thats the word on Lauer from the ducks board. No movement, where as we had quite a bit, so that is going to reflect in the number of shots and scoring chamces

Funny no one here mentions Anaheim's PP % in last years playoffs. They were clicking at 26.7%. Small sample size but that is when it really counts.

The Corsi For numbers are encouraging considering how stupidly awful we were by that measure.

Yzerman could also be thinking Ducks v Lightning in the SCF. Having someone on your bench that intimately knows each and every one of the players on the Ducks bench - strengths, tendencies, systems, etc. could be an asset should that time come.

Five questions with new Lightning assistant coach Brad Lauer

Congratulations on the position and joining the organization, Brad. What will be your primary role as an assistant with the Lightning?

“I talked to (head coach) Jon (Cooper) and (GM) Steve (Yzerman) about what they’re looking for, and they’re looking for another guy to help along with the staff they have to work with guys on a day-to-day basis, doing extra things with the young guys, filling in and helping out with some power-play stuff that Jon has done with the group there. Nothing has been ironed out 100 percent but just kind of the little things of the game.”

Apparently he's only helping with "some" powerplay stuff. :P

Even if not Ducks v Lightning specifically, it's a Western Conference guy, and the thinking might be to bring some of that western mentallity especially come playoff time.

As a Ducks fan, our power play was maddening.
They made some changes/adjustments in the playoffs that
worked until Chicago figured them out.
The ability to adjust on the fly wasn't there IMO, but it seems Cooper
will handle that?
