Aside from the fact that he has absolutely zero place alongside any of those names (aside from Klingberg), why would you have voters have to guess at the prime of one player, when all others are defined in the past?

Lidstrom was arguably the most impactful long-term defenceman in NHL history, and Karlsson at his absolute peak, was kind of revolutionary in the impact he had on that Sens team as well. I grab that duo, pretty easily.

That is very much up for debate...but at least Hughes still has the potential to develop into a #1 defenseman, something we know John Please-don't-make-me-battle-in-the-corner-or-PK Klingberg will never be.
