A rare poll where I don’t take Orr but his partner just doesn’t belong with these legends.

Lidstrom Karlsson (two all time greats and they provide a big of basically everything, plus they'd make a great pairing)
Pronger Coffey (just a shade below first)
Orr Hughes (need to see way more from Hughes)
Potvin Klingberg (no idea why Klingberg is in the poll)
Bourque Housley (I think that Bourque is the second best defenceman listed but I am not impressed with Housley)

Basically

Karlsson >= Coffey
Housley
Klingberg
Hughes

Orr
Potvin
Bourque
Lidström
Pronger

So? What's the problem?

Lidstrom was arguably the most impactful long-term defenceman in NHL history, and Karlsson at his absolute peak, was kind of revolutionary in the impact he had on that Sens team as well. I grab that duo, pretty easily.

Klingberg peak > Hughes as of yet so...
That is very much up for debate...but at least Hughes still has the potential to develop into a #1 defenseman, something we know John Please-don't-make-me-battle-in-the-corner-or-PK Klingberg will never be.
