OT: Let's talk about movies and TV - Part XXII

I know Thanos had the benefit of build up over multiple movies, but in reality, he only had IW to show the character off. I’ll admit Kraven’s Last Hunt would be harder to make audiences care as nobody will know who he is. I don’t think having him pop up to job like a jabronie to Spider-Man for several movies will do his character justice also.

Thats why it's hard to pull off... It'd be good in a tv series, where he gets 10 plus hours of screen time, though

I agree that Jesse Eisenberg is probably the worst actor in history and I had that exact same thought when I was checking out the trailer to Hummingbird project.

It always depends on how you approach the subject. A movie with Kraven, it'd naturally be about Spider-man being hunted, so i'd try to give it a "Fugitive" feel to it where he's framed as both Parker and SM and hunted on all sides and doesnt have anywhere to go. That's also why I'd explore a crossover storyline with neogenic nightmare and Morbius and also give it a "Fly" flavor about two men losing their humanity, Peter and Michael, while being hunted by a man who already lost his. The way it was set-up in the 90's animated series was pretty neat and I think it would work well in a more concise manner. Obviously to work best, some of the threads would need to be place through one or two prequels, like the genetic abnormalities flarring up and Kraven being propred up a bit beforehand.

I have no idea who or what you are replying too but if you think Jesse Eisenberg is the worst actor in history...then you surely haven't watch many bad movies/TV because if you did, you would realize he would rank among the top tier actors compared to the many many garbage out there (mind you, sure, if you only include the biggest Hollywood stars out there, then you could place him in the bottom tier)

His performance in Batman vs Superman is honestly the worst acting I've ever seen among high box office hits.

He honestly comes off as a dick in most his interviews as well:

I look at Into the Badlands like a future distopian, kung fu version of GOT.

It doesn't have the intricacies of GOT, but there is some depth to it and the characters are quite memorable. Lots of villains and a handful of heroes. Full of political intrigue and some beautifully choreographed fight scenes.

As I mentioned, it's not at the tier of GOT, but it is excellent. If possible, watch the previous seasons first.

Could not stand that show. Bad acting, worse CGI. Only good thing about it is the fight scenes. I finished season 1 and stopped at that.

The first season wasn't outstanding. The following ones are considerably better IMO.

Just finished season 1 of The Blacklist.
James Spader is the male version Brie Larson in terms of emotion display. He has 1 facial expression all the time, bored. That and opening/closing his mouth and smacking his lips for no good reason. And he bobbles his head more than a bobble head doll on a car dashboard.
The plot is so stupid, it's border line insulting. How it lasted 6 seasons is beyond me.

He was absolutely awful in Zombieland...he should thank his lucky stars Woody and Mrs. Stone were there to save the movie. Haven't watched the rest admittedly, because I can't stand him but I'll give them a go one day.

Jesse Eisenberg is one of those actors who has a specific character type, and he plays that character in every movie..........and not every movie calls for such a character.

That is like asking which is the best player among an all star team. 1994 is one of the greatest movie years ever. I was working at my school paper around that time and that was my assigment and I found so many great movies from the smallest ones to the biggest ones. I think it might be my Favorite year although there were a few stand out ones in the 80s.

My all-time favorite. Must have watched well over 30 times. And everytime I watch, I find something new. Just brilliant on so many levels.

There's a good reason why it's been sitting at #1 of imdb's alltime user rating list for i dont know how long. I remember a time where Godfather held it, but that's like more than 20 years ago.

Watched it last month. Still in awe.

I love Shawshank but I realise I do not love it like most because I had read the Stephen King novella beforehand and when i watched the movie, in classical Darabond way, he had "Disney-ed" the Hell out of the story. The story in the book was much darker and harsher. Andy was getting raped on a constant basis, he was in a living Hell so when he escaped it was more fullfilling. Also I'm not Tim Robbins' biggest fan so there's that(my favorite stuff of his is in Bull Durham). It is still pretty good though.

I usually can't watch a movie more than once unless there have been many years between viewings, such that it's not fresh in my mind and it becomes new again.
