I’ve seen a few people suggesting that Draisaitl “didn’t show up” for the Oilers this year, and even a few suggesting he was a big reason they lost.

He wasn’t. He was very good. He’s very good in the playoffs in general actually.

“Best points per game in the NHL” good. (Minimum games : 10).

Lots of reasons we couldn’t get past the Hawks, but Edmonton’s big guns showed up in a big way.

He and McDavid were just fine. Next year more money will open up so Holland should be able to actually do something about the holes they have. Hopefully.

Isn’t it easier to maintain a higher PPG over a smaller sample size?

I don’t think anyone seriously thinks McDavid/Drai are the problem in Edmonton. It’s the the other 95% of the organization that needs cleaning.

It’s not to knock Drai at all. It’s just some of those guys below him on the list are at a disadvantage for difficulty to maintain such production over much longer sample sizes in some cases.

True, a larger sample would make a difference, I just wanted to point out that targeting him or McDavid as reasons we didn’t advance is silly.

I really don't mean to be a hater but I have never seen a player that gets as many points as he does look so unimpressive live in action. I was waiting all series for him to do something impressive or noticeable

Give Dach credit, he did a good job limiting his chances - which sounds crazy given he had 1.5 points per game.

It’s a little bit of Dustin Penner syndrome with Draisaitl to be honest. He’s so big and so strong and so smart offensively that he never *looks* like he’s working hard.

Draisaitl played like shit in 2/4 games. Didn't even have a SOG in one game, not sure how that happens to any superstar.

17 games over four years, yes. I mean, he’s only 24.

I made it a decade to get a larger sample.
Making it a decade is kinda ridiculous because the guys who are playing alot more games are more likely to have lower PPG. If you simply listed the 17 game sample nobody is really going to put alot of weight into it

3+3 in 4 games is not showing up? I don't think anyone with a brain can say that.

EDM D didn't show up.
