Positive: that third period is what we'll get from this team during the playoff games.

Negative: moral victories only counted for the past 50 years. Now, losing to a lousy Hawks team is inexcusable.

At least they didn’t totally give up, that and stat padding are the sole positives.

I don't get it.

Down 5-0, people talking shit how they're throwing in the towel

They show fight and almost tie the game, and people talk smack how ohhh they deserve to lose, F them for not trying in the first period.

So you're mad if they don't fight to come back, and you're also mad if they try to fight back but come up just a bit short.

okay thennnnnnnnnn

At least they made it entertaining after being down by so many goals.

A few things:
- Nylander was arguably our best forward tonight. How come he didn't get used 6-on-5? Why were Marleau and Kadri used??
- The zebras were utterly ridiculous tonight. There were at least two blatant penalties (a hook and a slash) by Chicago that were missed. And then the icing -- Reilly won that icing!!! They've never given Kapanen that benefit of the doubt. And at the end that was delay of game! AND more time should have been added, look at when the goalie intentionally pushed it off (like 25 seconds left).

But yea, first period was awful. Second period was solid. Third period was great.

Absolutely love the Johnsson - Matthews - Nylander line. It'll become our first line.

Seriously this is gonna kick start a big winning streak and this team will get fire hot coming into the playoffs.

Even in a loss like this, a team really unites and grows in situations like this. Especially for a young team, this is a growing game.

costly missed points.

but at least they finally nutted up and maybe gave themselves some needed confidence.

in the end, Andy cost us this one. back down to .920 on the year, one tick higher than his usual .919.
I wouldn't consider that "nutting up". They started playing in a no-lose situation. We need them to start giving a shit in the first period.

What happens if Freddy knocks his own net off when the Bruins are pressing us behind 1 goal with 1 minute left in the game?

Jack Edwards leaves the booth and dropkicks Freddy in the back. Refs let them play.

It Boggles my mind how there was no penalty on Delia for knocking that net off.

We were absolutely dominating possession with scoring chances left and right. Add the fact the goalie lost his stick...

This opens up a whole new can of worms!

We had this game if we had one more minute! Also, this game shows a glimpse of our potential!

We literally dominated!

I don't wanna call that the "real Leafs" in the 3rd period against the worst defensive team in the league but it was pretty cool watching what they could do when the reigns get loosened on the offense.
