He's the one out of many AHL contracts who managed to earn an NHL deal after taking an AHL deal. He's the carrot to those hungry ECHL players looking to climb the ladder. Holluva job!

He, Froese, LoVerde, Findlay, Mueller, etc. are the types of guys we hope to develop from that system. Guys who will lead the AHL club.

Maybe you get an NHLer out of it, but the Leafs drafting does a good enough job producing those. More important these AHL signings act as insulation and mentors than anything else.

My 1st highlight-montage for Justin Holl (#4).., who plays Defense position with the 2016-17 Toronto Marlies., in the AHL...

Holl ..(*pronounced: "hole").. has become a pretty stable and secure two-way defense-man this past season.., with Keefe giving him leadership responsibilities and an "A" on his chest.. A great example of a late bloomer, who is really coming into his own.. and ready to make the next step..

With his age being a little higher than the others, but still close to most of the present Leafs.., with his ability to rush at the net at times, like a natural Forward.. and with his speed.. and ability to read and set-up plays.., I could see him having a very strong pre-season camp.. and possibly impressing the Leafs coaching staff..

Dermott and Nielsen are the fan favorites for most.., to be called up first.., but I might go with the taller body.., older/seasoned d-man with good speed.., if they all have equally strong Fall camps.. Babs decision is fine with me.., whatever it is..

What the Holl is going on in this thread!

Can't help but pull for the kid to get shot at some Leaf games eventually. Played well for the Marlies.

This thread went down the holl right from the start. A holl new meaning to shenanigans!

Agreed about him getting a cup of coffee at some point. Big fast rhd. At the least maybe become someone with trade value if he cannot crack the lineup?

Ya he had flashes of ability last season that made you wonder if this kid doesn't get a sniff at some point. But he's going to have to sustain his best play and add something one top as well to get the notice of Babs and co. Would be nice to see. That's heaping a Holl lot on his plate - this season may see him Holl ass.

If he finds that consistency and doesn't fall into a holl for periods of time it would be very good for him. Time is not on his side. More than likely he will be a tweener but he skates very well so there is a chance he could make it as a 6 or 7 in the nhl.
That would be a holl knew world for him.

You posers. Ive been a fan of this guy the Holl time

Where were you 2 years ago when I suggested that the Leafs should give him a pro contract?

Everybody basically said "What a waste of a contract" and didn't want to use one of the 50 spots on him.

I thought he should have gotten a look this year. The team was contending and had a log jam at defence, so I understand why he didn't. I don't think he would have been any worse than Marchenko or Marincin.
