If your going to have a vet goalie play for your ahl team he should be someone you expect got be able to come up in a pinch should one of the NHL guys go down. I'd rather th scrivens down in the ahl playing all the time and a vet pushing Reimer

While that may be true, Scrivens requires waivers to be sent to the AHL and there is no guarantee he would clear, as some team might view him as a cheap NHL backup to their #1 starter.

He was the Marlies goaltender. Unlikely to have a future in the NHL.

A good re-signing, he played very well with the Marlies. Didn't have much expectations for him when he first got here but boy did he prove me wrong.
