Love how anyone who defends Hyman always comes with when you're the coach / reporter blah blah blah. How about an actual hockey argument for his usage? Don't have one? Better get back to ball washing, heard babs has an opening on the equipment team for ya.

Yes, many of their arguments are generic arguments that could be used to defend basically any coach in any sport.

How about every statistical measurement of a player for ES has Hyman as a top line ES player, and one of the better complementary top line players in the league. Among players that play big minutes next to elite talent like he does, he performs among the best. He's on pace to put up as many points as Oshie did playing with Bäckström and Ovechkin at even strength. Better than Anisimov did playing with Kane and Panarin. His adjusted xGF% is among the best on the team. Both when he played with Matthews and when he played with Marleau, that line has generally owned the matchups.

There's a much better case for Hyman than against him. Komarov on the other hand...

You really do have patience Nith!

I guess the upside is that saying things out loud helps make things even clearer for ourselves.
