34 goals from JVR is too much for us to give up next year. Personally think he is a must sign, meanwhile we need to ship out Marleau in order to make room for him, and he would probly get us a decent haul, maybe a late 1st and two B prospects.

Marleau being moved out won't solve the JVR issue. The Leafs can afford JVR next year with Marleau. It is the 8 years that is the issue.

Hes a player that we need to hold onto if we want to remain competetive, we need to him signed asap. With the marleau thing, his contract will be a problem not next year but the year after when we need to sign matthews and marner. JVR has proven that he is a consistant scorer and one that is highly sought after in the league.
