29 in 56 for Matthews very impressive to say the least with him being injured and still about to reach 30!

No it's not. All players with similar stats are getting more. Matthews should be at 20+ like Eichel.

Here are the forward in the NHL who play 20+ minutes a game as ES and PP combined. If Matthews played on the PK, even the second unit, he would be over 20 minutes a night. There are only 4 forwards in the NHL that play 20+ minutes a game while not playing on the PK at all. Matthews gets plenty of ice time.

McDavid: 20:26
Crosby: 20:24
Barkov: 20:20
Kane: 20:14
Getlaf: 20:09
Ovechkin: 20:03
Panarin: 20:00

Eichel plays 19:17 a game at ES/PP but he plays on a team with one other good center. Matthews plays 18:15 because there are 3 other quality centers on his team.

34 goals from JVR is too much for us to give up next year. Personally think he is a must sign, meanwhile we need to ship out Marleau in order to make room for him, and he would probly get us a decent haul, maybe a late 1st and two B prospects.

Nope.

The Oilers are last in power play opportunities with 196

No one cares where the Oil are ranked in terms of PP opportunities. You guys are a bottom-10 team set to miss the playoffs, and probably looking forward to another entry draft party. :sarcasm:

The Leafs are the 8th ranked team in the NHL set to make the playoffs in back-to-back years, so the fact that they are 3rd last in opportunities, and last in terms of overall PP minutes is a very telling stat. On top we're third in the NHL in terms of our PP% - now take into account where we rank in terms of Opportunities as well as Overall PP Time, and to see we still have a TOP3 PP is friggin amazing! It's normal for teams in the basement of the league to not draw as much PP/PP Time.

ya know, could be the reason the pp time is so low is that they, you know, scored on the pp thus why they are 3rd in nhl for percentage?

i mean theres washington in the bottom 5 of pp time yet in the top 5 in pp percentage
ya know, I am just pointing out the difference in what two people said. One was time the other opportunity.
So take it up with them and take your smarky attitude with it.ya know

The Jets probably would've hit 4 30 goal scorers if Scheifele hadn't missed so much time. Connor and Ehlers are almost there. But they're all on the top two lines right now.

There's a few teams that could do it. Just depends how they set the lines.

Next time someone asks me for salt I’m going to hand them this thread.

Leaf trolling is a lot of fun to watch.

Meh leafs had
40- Matthews
32-kadri
29-jvr

Last year so not a big change at least if you go by pace.
Wow so even last year they didn't have 3 30 goal scorers

Right, because a 35 point drop in the standings is totally analogous to a player scoring 29 goals in 56 games and whom still has another 6 games to score 30.

****in' nailed it bud.
:laugh: Don't let anyone ever tell you that Leaf fans can't take a joke
