Blues don’t really have a use for Kerfoot, not Barrie.

Toronto shouldn’t trade for a UFA.

The premise of the Blues taking on cap space to help someone else sign Pietrangelo is certainly as much of a head scratcher as the Leafs trading a first along with Kerfoot and the rights to a different d man. for the rights of a UFA

No way leafs do that

If stl even considers dealing Alex P it means they can't sign him to an extension

Counter offer

St Louis
the rights to Alex P
C. Barbashev, Ivan

Toronto
the rights to Tyson Barrie
Andreas Johnsson

Toronto isn't going to trade for Pietrangelo's rights and they wouldn't be worth nearly that much.

If STL is moving his rights he's made it clear he's leaving so they'd have zero leverage

I said it in another thread and I'll say it again, negotiating rights aren't worth much. This is far too much for an unsigned peitro, and far too little for him signed. No deal to be had, if pete hits f/a the leafs will try then. If they strike out there then there's fallback options in tanev, hamonic, et all. The blues also won't deal him as they hold the advantage of an eighth year right up until f/a and they likely intend to use that leverage.

If he's leaving St Louis, he will listen to Toronto's offer anyway.

No need to make this trade.

You can find other (better) deals for these assets if you want to trade them.

WTF is this dumb shitty proposal.

He is a UFA. Dubas would be fired on the spot for that idiocy.
