Suspended in the playoffs twice. Doesn't matter what he does elsewhere he blew it here
Hahahahahahaha. Lefty......wouldn't know what would make up a good hockey team if it smacked you in the forehead.

Alex Kerfoot looked good in the playoffs
If we move on from him, i'd like to add a grittier more defensive minded 3C like Lowry/Bennett/Coleman/etc
The bottom six are skilled, no bang for your buck and not any effect on the game physically for the most part. They didn’t score either. Bottom 6 doesn’t and shouldn’t mean to much of the same thing. Fir the Leafs it’s to much of the same skill players with not much leadership beyond Spezza and Clifford. The rest were pretty weak. This team needs savvy defensive forwards that bang and forcheck hard and score a bit too. Thats whst it looked like anyways. Kappy is already gone and i think the best player on that third line. That doesn't mean we need to put literally everything on them. There is enough money to improve our defense and not completely decimate our bottom 6.
Can’t say i agree with them nuch.Listening to Fan 960 Calgary they are speculating if the X draft was tomorrow it would be Bennett that would be exposed. That doesn't suggest he would be a costly get and his cap hit is $1M less than Kerf.
Nylander for Lindholm and Bennett. Problem solved for 2 teams. Cash flow for Calgary, #3C for the Leafs. Can’t say i agree with them nuch.
Same. A grittier matchup center would be amazing.Alex Kerfoot looked good in the playoffs

I'd like to see Eric Staal as the Leafs 3C in 2021-22.
Nobody is saying the mix shouldn't change, but bottom 6 also doesn't mean completely devoid of scoring talent.Bottom 6 doesn’t and shouldn’t mean to much of the same thing.

Kerfoot does a good enough job for a reasonable enough price. I like him, and was impressed with him in the play-in. I think he'll endear himself to the fanbase a bit more if he has a healthy season, instead of the broken jaw/face cage business that tanked his numbers.
The replaceable one right now is Johnsson. He could disappear and it wouldn't hurt the team. Let him flourish somewhere else. Here he's just playing 5th fiddle on a roster full of talented wingers.
Kerfoot is decent as a C (way better than when he played wing, IMO), can get you 40 points, and looked like a committed PK guy in the play-in for Keefe. You can't easily replace that for less than 3.5 million.
Eh, he was one of our more effective players against Columbus in the play-in. I think a lot of what you observed may have had to do with some hesitance while returning from and attempting to play through an injury. He has the ability to turn it in against those difficult to play against teams and didn’t even look out of place on the penalty kill.I have no problem with Kerfoot against skating teams like Habs he looks like a very good centre. However against teams like CBJ, Bruins and Canes though he should not even be on da ice as he is badly outpowered. He has no ability to break through a trap system at all.
We have enough scoring to outscore the skating/skilled teams but we need a 3C who can help us get through a bigger positionally strong trap team that forces you to bust up their centre ice trap. This is not just on Kerfoot but our top 4 guys don't have that skill either so it must comes from lower in lineup.
Our 3rd and 4th lines need to be filled with guys who can penetrate da trap.
I don't put it on Kerfoot as he is one of almost an entire team of guys who do not have what it takes to tough it out through a trap game and win. We have to build a lineup that can beat Canes CBJ and Bruins in a small ice trap game. Much like Tampa did with Coleman Gourde and Goodrow. They just overpowered CBJ and Bruins. 3rd lines win in playoffs. Having Hedman helps too. and Vasi of course.Eh, he was one of our more effective players against Columbus in the play-in. Carolina does not play anything close to a trap game. Neither does Boston. We have to build a lineup that can beat Canes CBJ and Bruins in a small ice trap game.
