The Joël Bouchard era begins tonight.

The game is available for free on AHL TV. They offer an opening weekend freeview so whoever is interested, you can sign up and watch any game for free, including Laval's game tonight against Providence and tomorrow's game against Hartford. I watched a bunch of games last night and this new video feed is amazing. And it is very affordable.

A few days ago, the Rocket announced their roster. They haven't made any cuts as Bouchard said he wants to make sure everyone gets the system and message before they're assigned to the ECHL so when they do get the call up, they already have the knowledge of how to play the system.

The other day, Laval announced their 25-man roster for the weekend:

Forwards
#10 - Jake Evans
#11 - Nikita Jevpalovs
#12 - Lukas Vejdemo
#12 - Hayden Verbeek (Laval's website has him wearing the same number as Vejdemo. Surely a mistake)
#18 - Kenny Agostino - A
#19 - Antoine Waked
#21 - Byron Froese - C
#22 - Alex Belzile
#24 - Daniel Audette
#25 - Michael McCarron - A
#26 - Michael Chaput - A
#27 - Alexandre Alain
#28 - Alexandre Grenier - A
#39 - Hunter Shinkaruk

Didn't make the trip:
#15 - Phélix Martineau
#16 - Jeremiah Addison
#23 - Michael Pezzetta
#32 - Morgan Adams-Moisan

Defense
#2 - Maxim Lamarche
#3 - Brett Kulak
#4 - Adam Plant
#5 - David Sklenicka
#6 - Michal Moravcik
#14 - Brett Lernout
#36 - T.J. Melancon
#83 - Cale Fleury

Didn't make the trip:
#7 - Ryan Culkin
#20 - Gustav Olofsson

Goalies
#29 - Étienne Marcoux
#35 - Charlie Lindgren
#40 - Michael McNiven

I am looking forward to see the lines.

I hope some interesting room will be made for prospects even though winning should be very important also. Winning with prospects. Balance is key.

Excited for this year's team.

Is there enough vets?

Agostino is for sure a lifetime ahler

They are good with vets. Each team is allowed 5 vets (played 260+ games in NHL, AHL or Elite Euro Leagues) and 1 vet who has played between 260-320 games.

1 - Chaput (436 GP)
2 - Grenier (358 GP)
3 - Froese (324 GP)
4 - Agostino (283 GP)
5 - Shinkaruk (266 GP)

They have room for one more vet. Also of note, Agostino and Shinkaruk could both count as the vet who has played between 260-320 games should they bring in another vet who has 260+ GP.

According to the morning skate, Marcotte noticed that the top two lines will be

Shinkaruk - McCarron - Grenier
Agostino - Froese - Chaput

Verbeek, Melancon, Waked, Fleury, and Marcoux look like they won't play tonight.

So the D-Unit will be comprised of:
Moravcik, Sklenicka, Kulak, Lamarche, Plant, and Lernout.

Weird that all jersey numbers are 40 and below... Then Cale Fleury at 83.

Olofsson still recovering from injury. Stayed in Montreal to continue preparing for his return. He should be good for next week.

Verbeek, Melancon, Waked, Fleury, and Marcoux look like they won't play tonight.

So the D-Unit will be comprised of:
Moravcik, Sklenicka, Kulak, Lamarche, Plant, and Lernout.

So pretty much this:

Agostino-Froese-Chaput
Shinkaruk-McCarron-Grenier
Audette-Evans-Belzile
Jevplavov-Vejdemo-Alain

Extra: Waked/Verbeek

Kulak-Lernout
Moravcik-Sklenicka
Plant-Lamarche

Extra: Fleury/Melancon

I agree with all the extra player at the exception of Fleury for Lamarche.

Very likely. It's as an educated guess as it can get. I would put the Vejdemo line on the third and the Evans line as the fourth, but these lines and pairings make sense. Jevpalovs and Vejdemo were great together in both games last weekend and Bouchard really liked Evans and Belzile on Saturday. So there is reason to believe he will keep these duos.

They play back-to-back games, probably will see the people sitting today playing tomorrow.

It's awesome. Well worth the money. You should create an account and watch the games. They're free this weekend. You can see for yourself.

Too bad tonight's game is at the same time as the big club's game... They should start the AHL games at 3PM on game days for the big club would be smart business.

For me, one will be on TV and the other on the laptop. It's also available on a tablet.

Hopefully Olofsson and Fleury replace Plant and Lamarche soon, that would make for a really solid AHL d
