Why not? Provorov left at 14.
Well, Russians are swapping a better league (the KHL/VHL) for inferior one (the CHL) commonly.Michkov will play in the MHL next season, and he can play in a bantam league only in NA, what a point to swap the better league with inferior one?
That was 15U man.Russia definitely was the best team throughout the tournament and deserved gold. Results at the U16 level don't mean much but it was fun to be able to identify a lot of the next wave of talent from different countries. Even though plenty of the players we saw won't pan out, there looks to be some high-end talent headed to the U17 ranks next year.
It’s the ‘04 birth group....which is the 15U age group. Obviously u can turn 16 Mid season if your birth month is Jan-Apr. but it’s not known as 16U, it’s known as 15U.U16, Savoie was already 16.

USA can’t seem to win many big tournaments lately. USA Hockey needs to start achieving some better results.

Fun tournament to watch but trying to draw anything from it beyond names to keep an eye on is an exercise in futility.

Some observations, mainly about Michkov but also some other players at the Youth Olympics
