"A chance..."

In other words, he maybe suits up sometime in November.

Leaving joking aside for a second, has there EVER been a case where the guy came back sooner than Mo stated? Has “week to week” EVER become “day to day”? Or even anything less than 2-3 weeks?

I honestly don’t think the other teams gain such a huge advantage from knowing player X is gone 20 days versus 10 days. Yeah, not knowing keeps them guessing a bit in their prep but I really can’t believe it’s all that significant. In the end the guy either plays or doesn’t.

If anything, predicting longer and coming back sooner screws with the other teams more IMO.

Stolarz is apparently 8-1 against San Jose

- 2-3 Panthers need a win against an all time bad Sharks team to calm the people
- A goalie with a great record against said bad team starts
-Anthony Duclair returns to Sunrise who is just as good if not better than Barkov
-Sharks are winless and are on a 5 game losing streak.

6-3 loss incoming.

Does anyone want to explain why we are playing musical chairs with Mackie, Sourdif, Lockwood? Like what the heck was the point of pre-season if not to figure out where everyone would be playing

regular season isn't pre-season. guys can earn a shot but if the coaches aren't seeing results now that the games count, they may not be keen on giving the rookies a lot of rope, especially with our injuries and points being so precious.

Maurice said after last game that he's happy with the first and fourth - it's the middle six that needs to contribute more. he's got some levers he can flip so he's flipping them.

Dump Cousins. He is a waste of space. Send Balls down to the A. If Reilly is so bad then trade him or just make him the 6th D

They had a good preseason but preseason isn’t regular season. They’ve been largely invisible, so if they’re not gonna get more ice time here, let them go dominate in the AHL.

Remember, Samo played a whopping 9 pro games before this season, and Sourdif only played 48 as he was injured a bunch. They need to play big minutes.

People are having an issue with Barkov? He has 6 points in 5 games, Reino has 8 and ERod 7. They’re all +5, ERod with +6. Tkachuk has 4, Verhaeghe 2. Stenlund has 1. No other forward has a point. Lundell is with Cousins and Sourdif, he and Luo have been swapping that spot a bit but have zero points. I wouldn’t say a word about them, the 4th line has looked excellent but haven’t converted. The issue is the middle 6, not the top or bottom. I mean, aside from special teams and some defensive brain farts.
Barkov had clearly been the passenger on that line . 1 goal and racking up secondary assists. Basically creating nothing dangerous. a couple primary assist have been basic passes to the point man . His goal was a fluke off the post and off the dman.

No shock that the middle 6 is struggling since they moved reino away from lundell. Verhage and tkachuk need to start scoring.

If u don’t think Reino scoring at a 70 goal pace is carrying barkovs numbers not sure what to tell u. If someone wants to point out an elite play he’s made offensively I’m all ears. All his assists have been secondary or routine nothing plays. That’s just the reality. again I’m all ears but I won’t get a response because he’s done nothing noticeable offensively and has t looked dangerous whatsoever

I watch Barkov (spot light him so to speak) at the games and the things that he does are amazing with the skill level. Yes, he passes instead of shoot, but he is getting better with that.
I definitely don’t think that it’s a skill issue. That is just who he is. It’s his personality. He is not an excitable guy.

When he was here I always thought that Jay Boumeester was an average skater until I started watching him at ice level. He was an excellent skater. Great strides with easy power applied.

Who cares? You think Barkov is riding Reino’s coattails after years of being elite?? I haven’t seen him be crap all year, have I seen him be as elite as he can be? No, but again, who cares. That line is scoring, wtf is your point?? Lundell is playing with rookies and Cousins, Reino is a high level player he has chemistry with. Let’s see how things go once Bennett is back.

And hell, if the damn special teams wouldn’t crap the bed, none of the above would matter. Special teams has been the biggest issue, not Barkov who’s above a PPG.

Barkov is one of the reasons the special teams is crap. He’s a complete non threat in the
pp and alot of it is running through him. He’s been fine overall this year but just bit producing offense yet . It’s time to start holding him accountable. he isn’t a defensive specialist anymore and is paid like an elite producing forward. It’s evident few people here watch other superstars around the league. They look dangerous consistently. Barkov has 1 fluke goal and a bunch of secondary assists. and yes his production is absolutely on the heels of reino hot streak

Not me thinking Reinhart and Erod have space because Barkov attracts the attention.

We need Duclair
reino and erod take the space given to them And are making good offensive plays consistently. Barkov has had a ton of space and just isn’t taking it. I point out in game when it happens. Everyone has their head in the sand tho. again I’m still waiting for anyone to point out a good high end offensive play he has made to create a dangerous chance.

This is dumb. The fact you took all that time to write that out, say he “isn’t a defensive specialist anymore,” but is fine overall, and none of us really know what an elite player looks like (which is stupid in and of itself) when there’s 2 on this team. Barkov and Tkachuk. Congrats on being THAT guy.

No one takes what he says about Barkov seriously
