I think that's the best possible choice, honestly.

Linked from Kuklas Korner:

Kyle Bogey, the WXYT-FM (97.1) evening host and WXYZ-TV fill-in anchor, reported on Wednesday that during the Wings viewing party at the Sound Board at Motor City Casino that former Wings defenseman and Hockey Hall of Famer Larry Murphy would be returning to FSD.

Murphy was a member of the FSD crew for the Wings years ago, but was fired by the network in March 2013. Murphy told the Free Press he was informed he was let go because of ratings.

The four-time Stanley Cup champion, who was a blue liner for the Wings' 1997 and 1998 title teams, has worked with the NHL Network.

A message for FSD has not yet been returned.

And I swear there was a dancing hot dog emoji. Oh well.

Mods: There should be a dancing hot dog emoji. Let's make that happen.

I actually liked Murph. Felt like I was in the minority but can't remember for sure. Eliot wasn't my favorite but happy for him.

We can only hope. No idea why they blamed him for ratings in the first place though, he was very entertaining.

"Our team is clearly trending down. Seats are emptier. Larry Murphy is to blame for poor TV ratings."

I like Murph and his perspective. I think he pauses way too much when he broadcasts though, Ozzie does pause a lot as well, but not as much as murph. Ultimate pauser is Paul Woods, he says uh every other sylable

Edit: Paul Woods from 97.1

And now that they changed the color of the seats, ratings have returned, and they can bring Murphy back. :sarcasm:

Whoever hires these guys needs to be canned themselves. Murph was terrible. Eliot, too. Osgood has made strides but still has the same issues. Their cadence is so unnatural and their on-screen presence is uncomfortable. It gives me fremdschamen. It’s like the person hiring them has an auditory version of color-blindness where they can’t distinguish between normal pacing and whatever f***ed up stacatto delivery these guys ALL seem to have. Please help.

I think you're looking at this all wrong.

FSD is brilliant. They realized that with the current state of the team, the broadcasters are running out of things to say. And so they keep hiring guys that take longer and longer to say anything, to disguise all the dead air.

It's SeatGate2.0, and their marketing team (presumably of trained chimps) must be so very proud. :sarcasm:
