As Fifth Marauder said, thank goodness. LA coddled him for far too long, determined to make their former 1st-round pick pan out and in denial over how much of a bust he was. It's still amazing to me that, no sooner did Doughty win the Norris while paired with McNabb, they split that pairing up and forced Drew to babysit Forbort, then protected Forbort over McNabb in the expansion draft, which I was against. They prioritized Forbort's development and salvaging a 2010 1st rounder over what might've been best for their #1 defenseman.
Even though he's a bust for where he was drafted, he's still an NHLer and decent for depth. Hopefully, for Calgary's sake, they just use him on their 3rd pairing or as their #7, rather than in their top 4 (or even top 2) as LA did.
