Then and there
After taking an early lead, Barca struggled for long to kill the match off, and Rayo could and maybe should have scored an equalizer.

But then the 2nd half Barca subs Joao Felix (great footwork), Ronald Araujo (good long range through ball) and especially Pedri with his 2 goals secured the win.

Today's 3 points confirmed the 2nd spot for Barca ahead of Girona.

Nice home farewell match for Athletic Bilbao's Iker Muniain, he scored today. After making his debut aged 16, he made over 500 appearances for the club.

Like Julen Guerrero before him, I thought in the beginning that they would go on to even greater careers at club level. But they stayed at Bilbao for all of their career, which restricted their achievements.

In my FM saves, I always brought them to play for Barca.

Smoke here in the city is that Roque Will be a Goner. They want to sell him before the variables kick in

Yeah, I’ve seen that. It’s a difficult situation to be fair. I could make a case either way. I just wish we had the full story and Xavi’s involvement with the player’s recruitment.

Not the first time Felix has essentially influenced a result. I didn’t think he was spectacular past that though. Pedri taking advantage of his minutes, but Fermin did have some nice plays while he was on.

Now we’ll see who Xavi selects in the final match. Hopefully he benches the likes of Pedri and Araujo so they don’t get injured, but Felix should start.

I thought they’d eventually come to an agreement, but it wasn’t to be. The player probably wants more playing time and the club probably wanted to save on his wages. It just feels a bit odd as he’s only 31.

I remember loving Muniain in Euro U19 in Normandy in 2000. Saw two of his games live.
playing u19 at 8 years old, that's a real special talent!

nice for him to go out on the cup win

Barcelona officially not guilty in the Negreira case.
Of bribery because Negreira has been deem not to be a public official.

Nevertheless Barcelona are not out of the woods yet. The club are still being investigated for ‘dishonest administration’, and the main direction of the investigation currently, sporting corruption. The latter is the main charge that many feel Barcelona could face action on, but the prosecution have the added difficulty of proving that Barcelona received recompense for their payments to Negreira beyond the consultancy, whereas had the bribery charge been judged, they would only have needed to prove that the payments had taken place.

Plus, the payments have been acknowledged. It is not bribery in the legal sense, but you are still under investigation for sporting corruption. Do not declare victory just yet. You have beat one charge.

Girona leading 5-0 in their final match, with 15 mins left. Dovbyk just scored his 2nd goal of the match and is now level with Sorloth (23 goals) for the top scorer award.

Edit: Dovbyk completes his hattrick with a 90th minute PK. He is now top of the charts with 24 goals.

Nothing is going to happen.

Wow, what a surprise…. Now imagine the second post that I’m quoting here as some sort of reply:

And since it’s a quote within a post, I’ll paste the most important bit:

This is the equivalent of some MAGA Republican bullshit and should be a lesson to actually read what the media you’re citing is actually saying assuming you can actually comprehend it. And I’ve bolded the most important bit. So what this paragraph is saying is that had prosection not also tried to prove that Barcelona received recompense for their payments to Negreira beyond the consultancy, recompense obviously being referee decisions in matches, that they’d have been convicted. LOL. Seriously? Imagine actually attempting to be a journalistic enterprise and publishing that. And make no mistake, I’ve only ever found Football-Espana an anti-Barca rag. So they couldn’t prove we received anything for our payments beyond consultancy. Yeah, no shit. Why? Because there was NOTHING received beyond consultancy. How do we know? Because A) there is no evidence of that and more importantly B) anyone who knows the rules and has actually watched Barca during the period these payments took place knows we’ve received no inordinate degree of favorable refereeing. In fact, it’s been the opposite.
