He had a 0.936 save% against the worst offensive team in the playin, he also had the lowest save% of all the Gs that played.

He wasn’t the reason we lost, but also wasn’t good. He was ok and when coupled with the lack of scoring the Leafs lost.

For what it is worth, he did it behind a D that containined Barrie, Marincin and Ceci (letting Holl and Dermott off the hook and Rielly had a Gardiner moment for a GA) who we hope to never see again in a Leaf jersey.

He did it behind good defensive results in the playoffs, while playing against one of the worst converting teams in the league, in a low-penalty series.

Yup yet we let Barrie and Ceci walk for nothing when they could have been resigned for peanuts and Marincin is Marincin. Spin it any way you want but clearly our D was exposed once Muzzin went down. Thankfully Dubas and Shanny realized it and Dubas addressed it. We now wait to see how well he addressed it.

Barrie signed for 3.75m. That's not peanuts (that's actually more than his cap hit with us last year), and we let them walk to sign better alternatives. Marincin is not the greatest, but he's also not nearly as bad as people make him out to be. Regardless of what you think of the players individually, the fact is that our D was not "exposed" once Muzzin went down. We actually played decently defensively in the playoffs, even without Muzzin. Andersen wasn't horrible, but he also was not nearly as good as 0.936 usually represents against a wider variety of teams/players, and his weak goals were especially problematic in a short series when the opposing goalie was playing so well.

Yeah great lineup too ... I was talking about 5 tool do everything type players like Gordie ... he was Mr Hockey for a reason ... he could fight/hit with da goons and win ... he could check da best checkers and win ... he could shoot harder than the hardest shooters and score at will ... he could deke with Gretz in tight and score at will ... he could skate with best skaters and win race to puck ... and he could score with best scorers and get 1 more than them every time ... now I realize he is Scotty's best, Gretzky's best and Orr's best too for good reason because NO one could do it all like Mr Hockey ...

but my list is a play any game against anyone anywhere with any style of game and win that game ... on your list only Neely Robinson and Chara would make it ... going into a corner Gretz Clarke Lemieux Crosby would lose to all my guys every single time those are all great players but NONE of them would go into corner prepared to die to get that puck ... my guys would all die trying and all those other guys you mentioned know that they would get seriously hurt and punished badly so unfortunately they could never win as they would give up puck before taking a beating ... read gretz he says it too
