He would not see a second of PP time.Could be a nice fit in Edmonton on a one year deal
Doubt he wants to be seeing limited minutes with Khaira.

illegitimate olympics, lol.
Russians are the olympic champions. Deal with it.
Lol deal with it? Beating a bunch of minor leaguers while all of your country's athletes are doping is less than legitimate
You watch too much CNN lol
Or back to the Habs to be the next top center

Can he play in these playoffs?
I could see Montreal giving him a shot if so, they were very happy with him (rightfully so, he was solid for us). We do have a ton of forwards now, so not sure how he'd fit in. If he plays as well as he did previously, fantastic. If he doesn't, no real risk.
Kovy likely would never goto Toronto. They don’t treat old vets very well. It’s either Boston or Rangers
Toronto has given Joe Thornton first and second line duties at times this season. Pretty much the same as Marleau when he was here. We have vets that love to come here so I’m not sure why you’d think that.Kovy likely would never goto Toronto. They don’t treat old vets very well. It’s either Boston or Rangers
It would actually be really great to have that kind of a guy in the room for Podkolzin. Van can always used another offensive winger, even if he's just a powerplay specialist at this age.
Don't seem him coming to Van though.
Okay. We'll let you have the tough conversation and be the one to Kovalchuk that his NHL career is over. Somebody needs to have a talk with him and set him straight.Bob Hartley has always been known to speak nicely of his former players, and he gets along really well with Kovalchuk, so this should be taken with a grain of salt. This is just Hartley trying to be nice.
Nothing is gonna come out of this. Kovalchuk is done in the NHL, for good.
When the Kings brought him back in 2017, it was a long shot, but a logical, reasonable gamble. When it didn't work out and he went around from one team to another like a joint at a Snoop Dogg party, I think it became clear he was done.
And contrary to what some people suggest, he wasn't that good with Montreal. He came here motivated on adrenaline and produced 8 points in his first 8 games... before completely disappearing after that. The rest of his time here was just the usual Kovalchuk disappearing act of producing like a bottom 6 players while taking risks like a top 6 players.
Even with an expansion team coming and new job openings being created, this isn't happening.
