At Kopitar's age, with us retaining on Ladd, you can't expect those two prospects. That's a pretty darn good offer. I'll retain the 500K but Wilde is lighting it up and Bellows is pretty close to the NHL already. I could see Wahlstrom for Bellows but Dobson does not get included and there's no retention.

Avs don't particularly have a cap dump -- at least one they'd move.

If Kopitar was 28 I'd trade the Sens pick+ in a heartbeat for Kopitar (of course then the Kings wouldn't). Given he'll be 32 when next season starts (assuming something like this would go down in the off-season) I'd be more leery of moving an asset like the Sens' 1st / Makar for him. But I fully get that that would be the sort of asking price the Kings would expect.
