I can't think of anyone (Merrill) that Hague and Brannstrom could replace (Holden).
I'm not sure Hague is ready. I'd rather see Bischoff.

Brannstrom's contract will slide after this year if he doesn't play 10 games in the NHL this season so he will remain on his entry level contract for 3 years after this one. If he plays 10 games his ELC will kick in this season.I don't think the 9 game limit matters with him any longer, now the 40-game rule comes into play. Once the WJC ends the team will have little reason to hold off because it won't count as a full-year towards his arb/free agency years and there is almost zero chance he doesn't stay with the team at least half of next season. So to my reading of the rules, there is really no reason not to call him up unless the GM is worried about a guy like Merrill getting claimed off waivers and feeling like he's lost something of value if it happened. Just waive Merill, hope someone picks up his contract, but if not bury him in the minors until the trade deadline and then you can call him back up if needed for the stretch run and playoffs.

RFA comes as soon as his ELC is over, which is in 3 years if he plays 10 or more games this year or in 4 years if he doesn't. His salary in 21-22 will be significantly lower if his ELC slides and he plays like we hope he does.Does it really matter though? The key for a GM is keeping his years of service down and if he plays less than 40 games he's not getting a year of service so RFA and UFA come at the same time as if he plays all of next season. So even though the ELC is enacted, it doesn't make a financial difference unless you aren't sure if you want to use him for at least 40 games next year.
I've been able to watch. For some unknown reason I am currently getting the NHL Network gratis.Sweden is 20 minutes away from getting bounced by Switzerland. Only down 2-0 but the swedes have looked awful so far.
I threatened you cable provider with a spork... not sure why, but he seemed like a good idea at the time.I've been able to watch. For some unknown reason I am currently getting the NHL Network gratis.

You can't jump of the Branniwagon... physically impossible. I don't know if it's the flu, or Sweden just having a bad game. But 10 minutes left and down a man for 2 of them. Things are not looking good.Is it time to jump off the Brannwagon?
May have to try to jump anyway. Don't think you can be on the Brannwagon and Pirriwagon at the same time. You can't jump of the Branniwagon... physically impossible. Is it time to jump off the Brannwagon?
The 2 others: Bemström(CBJ, good goalscoring winger), & Erssob(PHI, the goalie).Brannstrom named one of Swedish player of tournament
No. He got screwed by the refs all tournament long(apparently it's ok to hit him in the face & hook him, but he'll get an interference when a player goes for a late hit on him).Is it time to jump off the Brannwagon?
