It’s questionable whether any of these guys will return at the level of play that they once had. The injuries plus the effects of age are going to have an impact.
Couturier’s back injury might be the least serious of the three and it’s no joke.
If Hayes has to have a third abdominal surgery within a year, that is a huge deal. He never was the most fluid guy on the ice up to now. Abdominal injuries could slow down his play even more.
With Ellis, and his history of issues, he’s in that zone where to expect anything beyond journeyman play out of him is unrealistic. It’s time to face facts that, basically, Ellis for Myers was a fair deal. Patrick was an inconsequential part of the deal who AV wanted gone.
So much for last off season.

February 17:

A decision could be made prior to March 1 if he continues to "make progress" as has been reported.

Until the next update.

Except the moment Hayes first returned from injury, it was obvious he wasn't ready, yet the organization did nothing and continued to throw is slow, struggling ass out there

Problem was whether he was struggling for health reasons, or just the normal "working his way into shape" on a team that had a huge hole at center (otherwise he'd have the route of going to the AHL for a week or so).

Maybe the medical staff sucks or maybe they're just the recipient of some bad luck.
G had a similar LBI, yet two years later he had his best season.

I don't know if any people here have a medical background but is this type of injury that Hayes has, can it fully heal up or is it something that could affect him the rest of his career?
