Kessel top 5 player in the world/ top 3 forward?

Kessel is better than Backes?

I'll bet if you propose a Kessel for Backes trade on the Trade boards STL fans will grab it and say ok.

Backes is a nice player and does a lot of physical things but his offense is a joke. His best season was 62 points and that was 2010-2011

Just for giggles I will post his stats.

13-14 57 points
12-13 38 points
11-12 28 points (short season)
10-11 62 points (his career season)


So yeah,I think he is better than Backes.

He is not top 3 forwards in the world, he sucks defensively. He can only play offense. If you aren't an all around player, then you can't be top 3. He might be one of the top 3 snipers, but not top 3 forwards.

Overall game I would probably put him in the 20-30 range because the defensive play is so terrible it drags him down that much.

I could nitpick here (top 3 shot. top3 speed mebbe?) but overall this is pretty good IMO. I assume we're talking forwards only, Kessel as a top 20-30 forward seems fair.
