This is ridiculous. We do not have to "fold" anymore than we should "sue" (a nonsense idea, btw). What we do need to do is shut up about it. If the team is going to dive, dive. Just stop drawing attention to yourself whilst doing so. Couture drew a number of ******** calls, but outside of the initial glance and brief whine, he let it go if the refs opted not to make the call. We, on the other hand, practically argue our case, legitimate or otherwise, expecting the call.

MacLean also did something quite shrewd against Montreal that AV is to daft to do himself. He talked to the refs, asked for an explanation and outright thanked him; one time doing so because he had previously yelled at the refs and explained himself earlier that while he may get animated, he has the utmost respect in the long run. In laymen's terms, he is playing them. If we did the same, stopped acting as though every penalty is a must call and just went about our business - even if it included plenty of diving. We would be fine.

I believe the sharks would have won in 5 or 6 games if the officiating was reasonable. That's a sold out house or 2 that was denied to both teams, their owners, fans, and broadcasters, but the series still goes to SJ in the end.

I think its too hard to tell if we would win or lose, the reffing skewed the series so much.

We disagree. I think we've pushed too far. The level we are being hammered by certain referees indicate that its not from regular complaining or diving. IMO we will need to take drastic action to solve the problem... either way a referee consultant would let us know what we need to do, and probably wouldn't be too expensive.

You guys are dreaming if you think there's anything the team can do about reefing. It was like this in '82 (obviously) and it was like this in the 90's as well. The '94 team had it just as bad as the 2011 team for bad calls.

This whole "lets kiss up, turn the other cheek or play Mr. Nice Guy routine" will never work. I think the Canucks have to take the approach that they are going to get called a lot, but the refs can only call so much - so forget the dives (because they're not gonna get that call) and play as tough and reckless as possible.

Well, that certainly explains their lethargic play this season........ and AV's giggle ifts.
