Wait wasn't there an article about him vamoosing back to Sweden like a month ago. Weird.

I thought so too, so this comes as a surprise

Hopefully it's for near league minimum, while I was impressed with Kellman in his time on the team last year we don't want another Sorensen/Melker contract on our hands

He's an average 4th ilner, which is fine imo...this is basically the minimum lol. I'd like to see him PK more to take PK minutes off of Couture/Hertl's plate
I feel like he is an average 4th liner, but there were things in his game with his body and puck control that had some flair to it. If he can put it all together, I think he could have a bit of a breakout and be a guy you can pull up in the lineup when you need it.

If he doesn't though, that's fine too, as it is basically a min contract anyways.

Maybe, but he's also 26, so I dunno what the likelihood of that is...I think he's just gonna be an average 4C until someone like True develops more in the AHL (hopefully into a good bottom-6 center).

I mean what did Goodrow just do? I think they are in the same spot, just Kellman has had less NHL experience.

This is the new league minimum I believe (unless that changed from the initial CBA talks). So about as good as can be expected. Worst case is he’s a cheap 13F.

Goodrow is the example of an average 4th liner. I don't think him getting to 25pts for the first time in his career at the age of 27 counts as much of an accomplishment. Not really sure what point you were trying to make. Can you elaborate?

Kellman played well this season, especially on PK but I was sure that he goes to Europe and Handemark will be 4C, now I am a bit confused. They are both deserve to be in lineup so probably one of them will play on the wing.
Upd. I guess Kellman will play RW on Melker’s slot and it is upgrade

I feel like Goodrow is more like a low-end third-liner...at least judging by the latest season. Mathematically, there are ~280 forwards in the league who are top-9 forwards. I'd say Goodrow is in the low end of that range.

Goodrow was very much a 4th liner coming into the season.

The Sharks were winning games when the top line was Hertl-Goodrow-Meier.
Obviously, Hertl was the reason that line was successful, but Goodrow didn't ruin it, or anything.

He is currently a 3rd line winger for one of the best teams in the league.

But, that isn't really my point. All I am saying is players can get better, even after 25 years old. With Kellman, I feel like there are things he does that really push the play up the ice, and control the puck, he just doesn't do them enough to be more than a 4th line guy. Consistency is absolutely something that gets better with NHL experience.
