Wonder if he even stays with Detroit, that will be so stupid
I would imagine Holland gave Yzerman permission to negotiate with Kostin's camp before the deal was finalized.

That would make sense. There is no cap issue this year unless Steve was planning to acquire and buy out every overpaid guy in their last contract year in the league. Probably more a roster spot thing that was worded poorly.
Yes pretty much. The league is full of 4th line players like him. Taking on a contract for buyout for a 4th line player is not a good move.
This offseason has been shit so far.
We kept the cheaper player our own GM signed to a contract, yes.So let me get this straight. We kept Zadina and got rid of Yamamoto.
I don't get it.
Dare I look back and see how this sort of argument fared in the Abdelkader threads? We kept the cheaper player our own GM signed to a contract, yes.
Kostin will move up the lines fast he was great on the Oilers with minimum ice time , because the top 6th is packed he has top 6 Potential fast skater hits hard and great shot his downfall is passing . by far has sniping ability I am pissed Oilers let him go .Yes pretty much. Kassian and Yamamoto bought out within days of each other
Never change, Kenny
Please choose someone else to have an intellectually dishonest conversation with, I'm about to lay down for an afternoon nap before my long weekendKenny? What does these buyouts have to do with Holland?
Other teams were buying them out.
Not arguing anythingDare I look back and see how this sort of argument fared in the Abdelkader threads?
Zadina cheaper. Right now that seems to be #1 priority. So let me get this straight. We kept Zadina and got rid of Yamamoto.

I think we're past the point of giving guys shots. I think Yzerman is going to start adding more proven guys that can actually fulfill their roster spots. These rumors about DeBrincat, Killorn, Nylander, etc. Suggest that he's at least trying to do that.Yeah, I don't understand this. Could have given him a shot with all the cap space, he certainly isn't worse than anything we got in the bottom six but has an unknown upside.

Kind dumb if true. I'm not anti-empowerment for players or anything, but Yamamoto isn't anywhere near good enough to be burning bridges and trying to pick his spot.spector was tweeting about it right after the trade, i don't have the link atm. His camp was not a fan of going from playoff team to bottom feeder etc. etc.

and if this is true why he wanted out he doesn't exactly have the resume to make other good teams look past him seeming a bit self-entitled.Well the playoff team didn’t want you so…..
Why do you think getting Kostin has no value?I still don't get why they are doing Edmonton a big solid of removing 3 mil for free here.
Because we got Klim Kong, who’s gonna put up 20+20 and kick Brady’s ass next yearI still don't get why they are doing Edmonton a big solid of removing 3 mil for free here.
