Hey there's been many that made the switch.

When they did try him it was for a handful of games, there is a transition period.

Mathews might take a bit to be a number 1, if he will be that is yet to be seen.

Until then we need a number 1.

Would like them to revisit it under a new coach.

He didn't work out at centre. That said, I'd like to experiment with Willie at RD, imho he's closer Erik Karlsson than any forward comparison I can think of.

Becoming a C in the NHL isn't exactly an easy role, and requires certain characteristics, that JvR hasn't really displayed in his career. I get that he's a big guy, and there is a certain attractiveness to fantasize that he might be a good C, yet we don't even have a need anymore, so I'm not sure what this is about.

But what makes you think he would be able to eventually transition into being a 1c? What about JVR's game screams centre? Is it just his size? Style of play wise he does not look like a good centre at all, and indeed he wasn't when they actually tried that.

That crossed my mind as well but then I also thought he might make a great coach and I couldn't decide which idea was best. :)

why stop there. let's impeach Shanahan, and install JVR.
The JVR-Plan. not as catchy as Shanahaplan, but hey we'll adjust.

We should try him at backup goalie. We need one of those right?

I'd like to see him as a goalie myself.

6"3, 200 pounds. Sounds like a #1 goalie?

Yes....i guess we could swap Gardiner with JVR...as many wanted him to play forward. I must have missed something like JVR struggling at left wing or us not having enough centers.

It's a bizarre thread, one would think RHD would be the spot someone is playing genius with.
