So it's today we'll see huge contract given away and teams getting better or weaker.

After calculation based on GeneralFanager: The Habs have roughly $8.6M and one roster spot available.
(Considering Carr and Danault are resign at around 1.75M for both of them)

Okposo
Backes
Ladd
Eriksson
Lucic
Boedker
Staal
Perron
Weise
Versteeg
Hudler
Gilbert
Grabner
B. Richards
Vanek
Campbell
Carle
Wisniewski
Vrbata
Martin
Brouwer
Chimera
Russel

And many more will find new homes....open at Noon. Discuss.

Will Bergevin/Therrien complete their ultimate grind team?

Matteau and Hanley will start in the AHL for sure. And as you said Carr and Flynn could also end up starting the season with the IceCaps. MTL have over 10M to spend today.

Bergevin NEED to use the cap space today.

im sure we would sign atleast 1 defencmen and 1 forward. would love to get Lucic but my guesses are Eriksson or ladd or Boedker and Hamuis or Russell.

Emelin most likely gets traded for prospect

and by September I hope Flynn and Desharnais are gone as we don't have place for them in the lineup . much rather see some young guys play

Big yes on Brouwer.

More 3rd liners. 39pt last year. Yu don't think Carr or andrighetto with pp and 2nd line minutes can get 15-20 goals for under a million? This will be a terrible signing. He or Perron.

Vanek isnt coming here, he knows what kind of **** show Therrien is. No skill players will come here unless they have to via trade. They will get Perron maybe and he will be a sack of **** here to float along side that other turd, DD.

Brouwer's around 20 goals every season. He's a big, consistent 2nd-line forward.

Perron is a decent Plan-B. He's an improvement on what we have and would be worth it if the contract is good.

Expecting Carr/Andrighetto to jump up to 20 goals is unrealistic. It would be great, but relying on them is a terrible strategy.

Vanek is still a good forward who can put up points. He's no longer elite and was grossly overpaid, but look past the tarnish and there's a real benefit. Will it happen here? Doubt it. Therrien disliked the guy.

Weise at anything less than $2M is fine. Or if he's a cap-filler after we get a top-six forward... again, fine.
