As long as he was told he is gonna be the #7 guy, I like the signing. From everything we’ve been hearing this off-season about letting the kids play, and Monty’s style is about speed etc, we shouldn’t worry about Polak stealing ice time from the kids.

We had Jordie Benn. He iced the puck a lot too, probably equally as bad as Polak to be honest.

I thought Nichushkin was rumored to get ~3M AAV

Janmark will get ~2M

Devin Shore will chip into that too

I had meltdowns both times the Leafs signed him. I’m probably the biggest Polak detractor on the Leafs board. I’m glad I won’t see him ice the puck when we have skilled talent available for passes.

However for what he is, for assumingly, 1 year, 1M, he’s effective

Right? I don't feel like our roster is much different/better than last year. Hopefully Heiskanen comes in hot, otherwise this could be another long year (even more so if no Seguin extension this Summer).
edit: also I should wait til free agency ends (or even starts)
