JP Parise Passes Away

My dad's brother (my uncle) died of terminal cancer last year.

Honestly the most horrible thing I had ever seen or been through watching my uncle die like he did.

First time I had ever seen my dad cry in my life.

So basically I can't imagine what Zach is going through at this moment.

I hope he went peacefully, as the cancer deaths I've witnessed have been anything but. RIP.

I had the privilege of watching JP at the old Met when I was a kid. He and Goldy were my favorites back then. And of course the maskless Gump too. No doubt where Zach got his work ethic. JP never took a shift off either. RIP JP.

Very sad to see JP pass.

Great first line, IIRC. called the "Beantown Express," with Goldy on RW and Tommy Williams at center. Sadly all 3 are gone. Second line was the ex-Habs line (don't recall if it had a name or not) with Danny Grant at LW, Jude Drouin at center, and Bobby Rousseau at RW. Saw that Bobby R was a pall bearer at Beliveau's funeral.

At the mic, Al "Close" Shaver on the radio.

Some great memories there.
