Never understood why Columbus and Tampa gave up on this guy.

Because he was excellent for a short period and then 13th forward quality 2 months later. Not really a player Tampa needed to re-sign. It's nice to see him doing well though. Just not sure he'll maintain considering what happened last year.

Tampa had better guys in a role that he'd be in, well at least guys they're investing in. He's a good player and was given a chance to have a real role. He's taking it. Good for him.

debating picking this guy up over jokinen, not sure if he's the real deal or just shining cause of injuries and depth

Never understood why Columbus and Tampa gave up on this guy.

Didn't give up on him, tried to sign him. He picked Florida because he was going to have a bigger role with them and clearly has taken it and run with it. He's getting first line minutes with them, would have been given 3rd/4th line minutes with us.

Never understood why Columbus and Tampa gave up on this guy.

Because he was never going to get top minutes in Tampa, he wouldn't have even gotten a 3rd line role. Florida had him locked as a 3rd line LW, and an injury caused him to move to the 1st line where he's making the most of his oppertunity.

Great guy, great player been a fan of him for years when he was in the farm.

He's looked really good with Barkov and Jagr in Huby's absence. I assume he'll go down to the 3rd line once Huby comes back, and his production might drop off a bit.

He's in a better situation in Florida with their injuries than he would've been here. He was great for stretches and then vanished for even longer stretches. Happy to see him succeed in Florida though. He's the kind of guy who's easy to root for.

Panik and Marchessault are both good examples of former Lightning players who just needed an opportunity somewhere else. Happy for them both.

He had plenty of flashes in TB. Always liked him.

I think he'll slow down, but he's still going to be a valuable scorer from here on in.

Did Tampa offer him more then league min salary? Thats what Floridas paying him and Im pretty sure he would've stayed in Tampa for an extra $200k. He's not an idiot.
