You mean the guy who came back premature in order to ensure the worst goaltending I've ever seen didn't continue?

Reimer is awful plain and simple. If you needed further confirmation, give it 9 hours.

We lose at least 3 of the final 4.

I do hope he goes on one of his lucky streaks though. Get some value back in him for gms that don't know better

its takes a pretty small twist to tear or stretch an mcl.. if its 3 weeks its not a complete tear or even anything almost noticeable on tests.

100 percent just a stretch or a micro tear less than a few millimetres.

I'm just curious...at what point does Bernier's injuries start becoming a concern when it comes to his reliability?

It's not a concern right now, he was overworked this year and it was his first year as a starter so there's something adjustment there. Also add in the compressed schedule due to the Olympics, and the fact that the second injury was just a freak accident, I'm not worried.

We should be happy it's not a groin problem, cause those can get bad over time.

Reimer had 12 starts, Bernier had 15.

Bernier was 6-6-3 in his starts. He takes an OTL and L on his record in games where he came in with the Leafs down.

Reimer was 4-5-1 in his starts.

Reimer was pulled against DET with the Leafs down 3-1 after the first, pulled against STL roughly 16 minutes in to the game with the Leafs down 3-0 and against CLB with about 10 minutes left in the 3rd after they went up 6-0 (this is the only time he was pulled and was the goalie of record.

Reimer had a .913 span over that period, Bernier a .928

if u cant handle when the coach says u were okay, u shouldn't be in this market. or in the NHL really..

how is saying reimer is ok ripping on him

This is probably one of the biggest non stories of the year.

IMO, Reimer and Carlyle haven't been on the same page since Reimer was peeved off he was pulled way back when.

Carlyle took a shot at Reimer, and Reimer took a shot back.

I'm sure if the reporters asked the players about Carlyle they'd have said his coaching is just okay ... if he didn't hold ice time over their heads.

Heck, Bernier has played 11 games since the Olympics and in 5 of those his save percentage was less than .900. Is that good, or just okay?

As Number One

Bernier 2013-2014
26-19-7
2.70 GAA
.922 SV%

Reimer 2012-2013
19-8-5
2.46 GAA
.924 SV%

Let's not forget Bernier has gotten than SV% through 55 games whereas Reimer played 33 that season.

Carlyle took a shot at Reimer, and Reimer took a shot back.

Reimer should have shot back by playing well. Doesn't matter if Carlyle takes a shot at him, doesn't matter who hates you or whether you are liked or disliked by your employer. These are professional athletes, Reimer needs to be able to suck up any criticism and shut them up by playing well. That's like saying I can just sit and screw everything up at work because I dont like my boss.

Dude, he said in front of everybody that Reimer played "ok".

Try to imagine what that must feel like. We're lucky Reimer hasn't given up on hockey entirely. Oh the humanity.

Carlyle said "Just ok", Reimer said "Good, not great"

Those phrases mean pretty much the same thing.

Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Jonathan Bernier has undergone successful sports hernia surgery and will be ready for the start of training camp.

The team released the update Monday.

Bernier missed five games in March due to the injury. He aggravated it April 3 versus the Boston Bruins and had to miss the remainder of the season.

Great! Now they can focus on recovering and training for next season. They have a lot to prove, as does the entire Leafs organization.

I'm glad, for the first time in a decade, the Leafs had a bright spot in net. Bernier played lights out facing a stupid amount of shots every night. Quality.
