true and it might be that monster is one of those unorthodox goalies and that's why allaire's stuff didn't work with him in toronto.
gustavsson was working with allaire before he went to toronto. so that's only partly correct.
i think in general gustavsson trying to copy modern hockey styles didn't work. his style is unique and it worked for him so there was no reason to change anything. much like tim thomas who always looked like a mess on the ice but he did what a goalie has to do, stopping pucks.
a healthy gustavsson playing his own style is elite in my opinion. but he had so many healthy related problems, i don't know if he can really be the great goalie he is for longer than just a few games. which is why i don't think he can be a starter somewhere. not until he's healthy for a long time.
