Because he went through waivers for free and the rumor that JB was shopping him with a second rounder attached with no traction. So what did he do from then to now to increase his value? Why? The offseason just started.
And what you forget is there were a lot of players including Johnson that weren’t picked up on waivers last year because of Covid. The circumstances now are different. Teams have the ability to at least make some money againYour “reality” seems to selectively ignore than Johnson and a 2nd was offered league wide with no takers last off-season then waived this season, again with no takers.
The fact is nobody wants him unless something of significance is attached to him and a that’s not a CB mid-to-late round pick.
More lile a way overpriced 4C, but OKLMFAO yeah you're going to get a reasonably priced top 6 winger and a first for taking a slightly overpriced 3C
1 x 1st / yeat of contract that's the price. Like it or not no one is helping TampaTake out Killorn and it's probably fair

I'm curious to see how Tampa's cap situation plays out. I see it as kinda ridiculous that because Tampa is in a cap crunch a guy like Killorn suddenly loses all value?
Johnson might need something added to him, but I'm sure a team in dire need of a C would be willing to be the sacrificial lamb.
I suspect the loser of the Danault auction will turn to Tyler Johnson...

Last year is not this year.
It’s just on hf. The reality is that GMs are looking to improve their team, not “hurt Tampa”.
True. Cap space is more valuable this year than last year.
This is true. And that also means that GM's know that TBL has its back against the wall from a cap perspective so they will try to make a deal that can leverage that fact.
One year for teams to make adjustments to a flat cap versus no warning? I don't think so, and the contracts being given out right now is proof of that.
Killorn had given an interview before expansion where he seemed like he’d be really upset if he were chosen. I mention this because he has a modified NTC, as does Johnson, and I’m not sure either would have Seattle on their trade lists as of right now.
