Ok, I have to ask this, and maybe it has been discussed, I haven't read the posts from previous threads on the coaching. But I have to get this off my chest. WTF!? How do the Pens loose a coach to VANCOUVER!? Who the hell sits down, says I can pick Pittsburgh or Vancouver and picks, THEM!?
Did he say to himself, "you know, I don't think I'm that good of a coach. If I choose Pittsburgh, they will expect me to win. But if I choose Vancouver then I don't have to meet any standards. I bet I could take a big steaming **** right on the bench, and no one would care. Hell, they hired John ****ing Tortorella, and he WAS a big steaming **** on the bench."
Maybe he figured there would be some kind of a sliding scale, like, "sure we only won 25 games this year, but at least we showed up to all our games on time. What more can you expect?"
I just don't get it, what could make someone choose the ****storm in Vancouver over a job like Pittsburgh. I'm not saying a job like coaching the Pens doesn't come with its share of drawbacks, lets face it, nothing short of the SCF is good enough. But Vancouver? what could he possibly see in THAT team. "I get to pick top ten a lot for the next few years, YAY!"
Someone please explain this to me. I must be missing something. I just don't understand this at all, and I'm not the kind to ever leave something unexplained. Please help me make this make sense.
