Not that odd. A ton of moves happen at the deadline that you can not really judge until you see the team in the playoffs, as those moves are always focused toward that time.
I'm not arguing against it, I like that it is later. Over half the teams make the playoffs, after all.

You can say that the best coaches and coaching efforts are shown when up against fellow playoff teams/coaches in best of 7 situations. Does Trotz win if coach voting is done after round 2 like GM is?

Yeah, if they voted on the Jack Adams late in the playoffs, Sullivan would have been an easy finalist and probable winner. What he did with the Pens in the regular season was great enough. Winning the Cup on top of it? Icing on the cake.

Not only was this very well deserved, but it was the flat out easiest choice of all the awards.

Johnston out, Sullivan in

Scuderi out, Daley in

Perron out, Hagelin in

Sutter out, Bonino in

Package out, Kessel in

Adams out, Cullen in

Everything he did this year had a tremendous impact when it mattered most.
Rutherford was insanely lucky that every move he made turned out great. He is running at the top of the curve.

Wasn't it you that edited his Wikipedia page last year?

I feel bad about laughing at that as much as I did now. But it was kinda needed at the time to help me cope with all that madness.

 Nope. No idea what you're referring to. Now I'm curious, what happened?

Well deserved. Really did an incredible job.

I admit, I wasn't a fan of his hiring or the job he did early on. He made me shut my mouth. Flat out outstanding what he did last off-season and during the season this year.

Well deserved. What an amazing job JR did this year. Really showed his expertise to all the doubters.

Someone edited his Wikipedia page and added a controversy section or something about hiring him and how bad the Despres deal was. Someone kept trying to re-edit it back for awhile but couldn't because they cited a bunch of sources to support it.

How much longer is JR sticking around for?

It is pretty crazy he was brought in to make a Cup happen within a couple seasons and did just that.

Hopefully nothing terrible happens with overthinking in trying to repeat.

It was an unbelievable year for him. I don't know if he made a move that didn't work out well. Bringing in the HBK line, picking up Cullen, changing coaches...

Just perfect moves all year long.

Dude can build teams on the fly. That's what we brought him in for.
