Just watching it now, had a game last night so I didn't get a chance to watch it.
First period impressions:
Morrissey actually looked very good in the first period. A lot of people saying he was invisible but I think he was the best looking defenseman. Safe passes, steady, had some good chances on the PP.
Brouillard clearly has a lot of skill and it showed in the first, I have a feeling judging by the comments that I'm going to see his shortcomings in the 2nd and 3rd, but I was impressed.
Kichton has amazing vision in the offensive zone. That hiccough in his own zone on the PP was pretty bad though.
Ehlers looks great every time he's on the ice. You can really tell how much he loves give and go plays. I would put him with Petan or Lodge on the PP because I think they are probably the two players best suited to recognize when Ehlers is trying to set that up. Saw him try multiple times in the first and his linemates didn't catch on.
Brassard has impressed me every time I've ever seen him play. Don't know what it is but I hope he gets more of a shot on the Ice Caps this year. He works hard.
Lipon is weird on the PP. Goes to the corner and calls for passes that wouldn't make sense, like when Petan has it in the opposite corner.
Petan looks amazing. De Leo impressed me. Balisy's pass was extremely nice.
Off to watch the second!
