That's kind of the whole story. Drafted out of Europe and had a good not amazing D+1 season.

Taken in the OHL import draft and committed to play for the London Knights, but had a monster training camp and made the Devils.

First 6th round pick to make the NHL as a 19 year old since Michael Groek.

This is obviously the current steal of the draft. A lot of posters like to throw that around the day after the draft but this is a case where it probably applies.

No it doesn't represent great scouting, the Devils passed over him through 5 rounds so had at least 132 players ranked ahead of him.
