While he never reached the levels of many other outlaw country stars of the 60's and -70's--His song Mr Bojangles is almost up there with The Beatles "yesterday" with cover songs and basic tune for almost every single serious busker

Had believed the Bojangles song was about Bill Robinson (famous entertainer first half of the 1900's). Was just about someone Jerry Walker met.
