Jay McClement is the only player on the team to have played in every game thus far and fail to score a point. I don't entirely know how much that matters, it's really not his job to do so in the first place. Underrated or overrated, he's still contributed every night in a role we need to be successful.
With Kessel/Lupul/Clarkson/JVR/Bozak (and soon to be Kadri) all locked up through 2018, I'm not sure how much you would want to commit to re-signing Jay. He's consistently made 1.5 million for the last 5 years on 2 seperate contracts, I imagine retaining him on another 3 year deal would cost the same.
I think at the end of the day he fills a role, and our PK success speaks for itself.
