Garrison could be a low cost, low risk option for Bergevin to make it through the year with a guy that can eat minutes and potentially play alongside Shea Weber if he finds his game from a couple years ago. Does he have anything left in the tank and if so, what would he cost the Habs? Currently a UFA making 650k.

He was always a mediocre skater and then the league just literally passed him by. He’s terrible at turning inside and gets burned to the outside quite often.
Most teams started to just let him fire it with open lanes as he’d shoot it so wildly it would hit the glass 7-10ft in the air, ring around the zone and out. His accuracy was Willie Mitchell with his 10ft long stick levels.

Garrison can't skate. At all. He was a poor skater even when he was having some success back in the day in Florida, just masked by playing with Campbell. These days, he's functionally not mobile.

There's a reason Garrison is on essentially a vet minimum contract. He's not capable of anything resembling "playing minutes with Shea Weber". Even back in his "prime", Garrison would've been a poor partner for Weber. Weber needs a guy with some mobility. Today's Garrison would be a downright catastrophe.
