Botterill is rebuilding, he's just done a terrible job. We should have prospects ready to break into the lineup but don't. He messed that up. Imagine if Olofsson wasn't as good as he is?

This is like a brick wall.

What actions have you seen actually happen that strikes you as rebuilding type moves?

Trading futures for current vets, is not what rebuilding teams do.

Rushing young guys is not what rebuilding teams do.

Spending in ufa on Marjo style player is not a rebuilding move.

The only thing that the Sabres have done like a rebuilding team under Botterill is lose and trade away one star player.

The fact that on top of those strategic contradictions to a rebuild, he has utterly failed at mosy of the moves he has made is beside the point.

Consider this, Botts just got speed bagged in the same manner that Pierre Dorion got smacked last year.

And Dorion has the cheapest, poorest owner in the league, a Superstar forcing a trade and girlfriend/wives having public fights.

Seriously.

Botterill fired yet?

No?
...

Botterill do anything yet?

No?

...

Both of these seem like they can’t be true at the same time

The most infuriating part is that we will waste the rest of the year letting Botts and Kruger finish the season, then the will fire Botts and bring in a new GM with a mandate to fix the team. That GM will take a year to see what he has, if theres no improvement he will fire kruger to put his own guy behind the bench and we will give them a year to learn new systems and "trust the process" then in year 3 when no improvement is made they will fire the GM and rinse and repeat until Eichel is a Bruin and the Sabres are in Quebec City.

f*** this ownership and their unwillingness to see the writing on the wall for what it is. We've been here before, it's the same old song and dance, they dont fire in season and we are stuck waiting till next year.

You want to fix this team? You fire Botts tonight, in fact have Kruger fire him because hes the new president of hockey ops. You then go to Babcock or Budreau and you see which one wants to work with this team, at least Babcocks ego allowed him to make decisions on behalf of the team, not its players. Babcock would bring the team together by giving them a common enemy, him. Then you either allow Kruger to finish the year as GM and Pres, or you bring Drury in as GM. All in one move you put people in places to succeed at the jobs their best at. Kruger isnt a coach, hes upper management, he is too laid back when things go wrong, he knows what the team needs and who needs to go.
