Jaromir Jagr is leaving to play in Europe, might return to NHL in future. Jarome Iginla doesn't want to play in NHL unless he is put on a team that can win the Cup this year, until then, it appears he will be playing for Team Canada in the Olympics this year. Should Jagr and Iginla just retire already? It doesn't look like Jagr is going to surpass Howe in goals.

Jagr won't play in the NHL again. He'll be 46 this month and not getting younger, and teams aren't going to use roster spot for his 10 goals.

Iginla might find a depth spot with a team like the Knights or Jets who might want the extra veteran presence in the room. Especially if they have an injury at wing before the playoff roster freeze. Who knows. Weirder things have happened.

There is no reason for Iginla to be a Jet lol

I mean, it's a roster where only 4 guys have ever experienced a playoff series win, and where only Byfuglien knows what it's like to go past the second round.

Just seems to me that if there's a hole at RW, Iginla might be a better option than an AHL'er for a team that has ambitions for a deep run.

They should keep playing as long as teams keep paying. If teams have a roster spot for either one of them and they still want to play hockey in their heart of hearts, then I see no reason for them to stop.

I don't see Jagr stopping just because he's not in the NHL. He'll keep playing until he can't play anymore.

It is up to them to decide if they want to retire, not us.

Jagr is just going to come back to the NHL in another 5 years, having rejuvinated himself in the loins of women across Europe. He will then put up 3 more 50pt seasons at the age of 50-53.

If Iggy wanted to grind out on the fourth line with the Jets, I'd be all for it!

Yeah I definitely wouldn't mind him (or Jagr) for the 3rd or 4th line veteran presence.

Iggy isn't playing for Team Canada.

Was probably his last shot to make a NHL team (i.e. impress at the Olympics and somebody take a chance on him). But he couldn't make the cut/team Canada decided they had better options.

More simply put -- Iggy's done.
