Comics came out in '84, TV show came out in '87.

The first movie came out in '90, though, so I guess it depends how you want to score it. They are FROM the 80's, but were still popular in the early 90's.

The Tv series you guys are thinking of was the goofy one based on the Archie Comics push to mainstream. The picture there is from a later animated series that was a little more serious and drew on the storylines of the original Eastman+Laird b+w comics. Its series run was 2003-2010 (wiki link) and to be honest I didn't even know about it until my kids found it on YouTube.

Its beyond me, what does it take for Phillips to be scratched? I believe the only D's who hasn't been healthy scratched this season are Karlsson and Phillips (not including Ceci since he started the year in Bingo).
