My hope is that Kraken keep youngster Jani Nyman over in Finland for another year maybe two so he can play heavy minutes in SM-Liiga rather get beat up and fight for ice time amongst the AHL players in Coachella! Not a good recipe for a youngster that needs plenty of minutes and PP time as well
This is what I would expect. His contract runs through next season at the Liiga and we have enough youngsters to get a shot at the AHL already this season.

He doesn't even turn 19 for another month. 2024-25 will be soon enough to have him come over.

Not sure I agree with this...He's signed so lets have him develop over there minimum 2 years maybe 3

Kind of crazy when you think about it. Had a pretty productive season in Liiga as a 18-year-old.
He's got the size but can the scoring be developed even further than it has already has? Would be nice to see a top line LWinger because I'm sure they will try to convert him, even though I'm against that!Keep players playing their Natural positions they will be better for it Offensively I say!

I'm glad about Nyman decision. In Ilves he will have an excellent coach and will surely develop as a player. Nyman should work with skating a lot and also with his defense. I have no doubt that his coach Antti Pennanen will get him forward tactically during this season.

When its to do with youngsters I'm hoping somewhere down the road the AHL has limits on how many over 26 year olds there are...since its suppose to be a Developmental League...say a limit of 4 the rest can go to Europe and ply their trade

They do. You can only dress 5 veterans in any game (320+ pro games) plus one with 260+ but less than 320 pro games.

If Nyman manages to be the 1st goalscorer in 2023-2024 and show significant progress in his game over 200 feet. Will have to take it seriously for the 2024-2025 season. I see great potential in him having the stature of a top player.

Assisted on the OT winner versus Slovakia today, seems to be having a decent WJC with 6 points in 5 games and among Finland's team point leaders.

Only two games left in the regular season. That shot% is crazy!

Stats against the closest comparison (playwise) I have seen at the same age - Patrik Laine (last Finnish season as 18 year old so a year younger):

The second hat trick this season looked like this (goals nr 18, 19 and 20):
Jani Nyman 2nd hat trick season 23-24

Skating is the only thing that might keep Nyman from becoming a solid NHLer. Plenty of time to work on that though.
