Jagr: "Those chants were for Marty? I thought they were for Jagr. Damn"

:laugh:Someone get the old man a hearing aid.

Jagr on if he thinks he will be traded..."I make too much money...when you make too much money you don't need a no trade clause":laugh::laugh:

He does not make too much money, the guy simply is money and so are his quotes. Lou better has that contract extension ready to sign already.

When, pray tell, will the Devils begin the process of attempting to wrap up Jaromir Jagr, their best player by leaps and bounds, for next season?
“I like it here and I want to stay, but there’s no rush,” Jagr told The Post on Wednesday. “I’ll be here when they want to talk. I know I’m going to play in the NHL. I’m going to play in the NHL for as long as I can.
“I love it,” said No. 68. “What else am I going to do, get fat?”

Ha, so nice to hear Jagr enjoying it here and wanting to stay.. And he should want to stay.. He's playing on the top line, getting good minutes, easiest travel in the NHL, already one of the faces of the franchise, and our forechecking style fits him perfectly.. Worst thing he could do is go to a run and gun team where he won't be able to keep up

Aside from what he brings on the ice, I'd love to have him around longer so the younger players, both on defense and offense that we've had come up this year and might become more consistent players next year, see the work ethic he has on and off the ice

I think THIS most of all is important aside from his potential contributions offensively and defensively.

I'd extend him 2 years at same terms. Guys contract is an absolute bargain this year. Even with a decline(which I'm not sure we should even expect) it will continue to be a good deal for the Devils.

Since he has come back - he doesn't seem to want to resign until after the season is over. I'd be surprised if he changes that

As a leader alone I agree. His contract is a bargain for what he brings on and off the ice.

Plus he is a damn treat to have on the team that needs some fun.

Jagr to equipment mgr Rich Matthews: “Richie I need help with my hands.” Matthews: “I can’t sharpen those.” Jagr: “That’s a good answer.”

He is pure gold.

Jagr on whether Devils just had to tip their cap to Ramo tonight: "Or kill him."

Tom Gulitti ‏@TGfireandice 1h
Jagr joked of killing Ramo that he'd be suspended for only one game, "because I never did anything wrong before."

The players have voted and the #NJDevils 2013-14 M.V.P. Award goes to Jaromir Jagr!

Jagr during his acceptance speech: "The players voted this morning, so obviously it cost me a lot of money."

Jagr single-handingly made this mediocre Devils season worth watching due to HIMSELF both on the ice and off it.

Would love for him to give it another go for another year here.

100%, considering the #'s he put up on this horrific team, I am convinced he could be close to or better than a PPG player with quality linemates. Plus, I love his sense of humor and the heart he brings to the game.

“All of the players voted today, this morning, so obviously it cost me a lot of money. I have nothing left. I really appreciate it, guys. Everyone who voted for me, it was a great decision. Those who didn’t vote for me, make a better decision next time.â€

I love Jagr.. I hope he returns to your team. It's been a pleasure to watch him

TG: Some things Jagr says make it sound as if he is planning to be back, but when I asked him today it was simply about whether the Devils want him back, he replied, “I don’t want to go into the details. I will see what happens.”

He then joked “I promise you you’re going to be the first guys to know. Or maybe the second. You can call me on me cell phone.”

The number?

“Star 68,” Jagr said, laughing.
