Too smart (high hockey IQ) for his own damn good, and playing in Tort's system. Change of scenery is what he needs...congrats to the team that gets him

Depending on Strome situation (I think he could be traded) the Hawks could take flyer on Wennberg (1 yr , cheap prove it deal) and reunite him with Saad to see if there is anything there

My guess is that he got comfy after his contract, and I think he's had multiple concussions, one courtesy of a massive hit from Tom Wilson/Ovi. For awhile after that he was afraid to carry the puck for very long at all. That aspect improved recently, but the production never came back.

Took the words from under my fingers. The guy just refuses to shoot. He's a decent playmaker, but when everyone knows he won't shoot it the passing lanes get taken away.

He's a fantastic defensive player. Can't produce enough to be a #2, but would be a dream for a lot of teams as a #3C. If he ever started shooting he'd be a top 6 option.

I think he's going to get a ton of interest very quickly. I'd easily throw a 3-5 year deal at $3-$3.5 million at him.

He's a 26 year old center that has shown to be top-6 caliber in the past and is basically a perfect fit for any contender's 3C spot. How is that a "terrible contract" for him?
