Who has seen him play ? I'm trying to find some scouting reports on him but I can't. What are his stats this season ? Strenghts ? Weaknesses ?
what do you mean by that? i by no means know who they play, but i was under the assumption that they play a lot of colleges which means he is playing 18-23 year olds at the age of 17Prucha73 said:Why is Johnson playing in the U-18 program? Was he afraid to hurt his draft stock by trying to play against older, bigger and tougher competition?

By comparison, Suter had 27 points in 47 games in his U-18 year.Prucha73 said:Is 8 points in 12 games really that impressive, for a guy whose offensive skilled were compared to Leetch?

Plus Johnson had 1-5-6 in 4 games at the Four Nations tourney (as mentioned above by Dr. Sens(e)).
He is, but you would really have to see him play to know what he's capable of. Perhaps he just got off to a slow start, and after his great performance at the Four Nations tourney he'll put up more points.Prucha73 said:But isn't Johnson supposed to be a lot more offensive that Suter?

they could use a real franchise blueliner in what is otherwise a solid young D corps

1. Crosby's hype is defening, now not saying he doesn't deserve it, but it is taking away talk from such elite players like Johnson.
2. He plays for the USNTDP, if he was in the WHL, OHL, QMJHL or the NCAA right now everyone is seeing this guy more and going crazy over him.
Just because he doesn't have the hype YET! ( I feal it coming) Doesn't mean that he isn't up there with the elite prospects. He has a great offensive game, but best yet his defensive game reminds me of a bigger hitting Scott Hannan of today!!
I agree. He's got it all offensively, and I think he has Norris potential. Lofty expectations, but he's got the skating, the hockey sense, and the shot to put up 50 points, IMO. That, with his size (6-1, 200), and rugged style of play, a young Scott Stevens is a good comparison.Captain Conservative said:I could be wrong, but he seems to have more offensive talent than Hannan. To me, he seems like a young Scott Stevens. I know that comparison gets thrown around a lot, but it seems to fit Johnsons Style.
